Scores and records on Dine Check describe one visit on one day. They are not a guarantee that food anywhere is safe — always check the original report.
A request to audit a restaurant is a suggestion, not a complaint. Make only genuine requests, one per person.
A restaurant's menu page is the restaurant's own information. Calories and protein, carbohydrate and fat are estimates, not measurements — always tell staff about an allergy.
Ratings must be honest, your own, and about a real visit.
If you run a business listed here and something is wrong, tell us at privacy@dinecheck.in and we will look at it promptly.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms apply when you use dinecheck.in (including the audit request page at /request and the owners' self-check at /check), the client portal at portal.dinecheck.in (including the kitchen app and the menu and kitchen pages restaurants publish there), and the partner API at api.dinecheck.in (together, "Dine Check"). By using Dine Check you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Dine Check. You must be 18 or older to sign in, send a request or rate a restaurant.
2. What Dine Check shows
Public inspection records. The directory republishes food-safety inspection results, enforcement findings and hygiene ratings that government food-safety authorities have published. Each listing links to its original source. We transcribe these records carefully, but the original report is the authoritative version.
A score is a snapshot. It describes conditions on the day of one visit. Conditions change, and a place with no record has simply not been inspected publicly — that is neither a mark against it nor a clean bill of health.
Not official advice. Dine Check is not a government body and does not issue licences or certificates. Nothing on the site is medical, legal or professional advice, and it does not replace the information published by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India or state food-safety departments. A predicted hygiene rating is our own assessment, not an official FSSAI rating.
3. Our own audits
Dine Check audits an establishment only with its agreement, against our published food-safety standard and the scope stated in each report. Our results are a point-in-time assessment by an independent auditor, reviewed before issue. We publish an establishment's results, or share them with partners, only with its written agreement. An establishment may appeal a finding as set out in its report.
4. Asking for an audit
A request tells us that you would like a restaurant audited. It is not a complaint or an allegation about the restaurant, and we never present it as one.
Sign in with your own Google account and make only genuine requests. One vote per person per restaurant; do not use multiple accounts, automated tools or paid schemes to inflate counts.
We decide which restaurants to approach and which requests to show on our public board. We may remove or merge requests that are duplicates, abusive, not about a food business, or otherwise against these terms.
A request does not mean the restaurant will be audited. Audits happen only when the establishment agrees.
Share pages show a restaurant's name, area and how many people asked. They never show who asked.
5. Restaurants' menu and kitchen pages
The restaurant's own information. A menu or kitchen page behind a restaurant's QR code is published by that restaurant. Dishes, prices, descriptions, allergens and nutrition values are entered and checked by the restaurant, not by Dine Check. Prices and availability at the restaurant prevail.
Nutrition values are estimates. Calories (kcal) and protein, carbohydrate and fat are worked out from recipes and typical ingredients — sometimes with the help of AI, then checked by the restaurant. They are not laboratory measurements, they are not guaranteed to be accurate, and portions vary.
Allergens. Allergens are shown only for dishes the restaurant has checked, and cross-contact is always possible in a kitchen. The allergy filter is a guide, not a guarantee. Always tell the staff about any allergy or dietary need before you order.
Kitchen checks show whether the restaurant's own staff recorded their food-safety checks — not the results, and not an inspection, licence or rating.
6. Guest ratings
Rate only a place you have visited or ordered from, honestly and in your own words. One rating per phone per restaurant; you may change it. Do not rate a business you own, work for or compete with, and do not offer or accept anything in return for a rating.
Do not include links, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, other people's names or personal details, or anything abusive, discriminatory, threatening, obscene, defamatory or untrue.
Your rating, comment and any first name you give are public on the restaurant's page. You give Dine Check and the restaurant a free, non-exclusive licence to show them there.
Ratings are not checked by Dine Check before they appear and are not a food-safety or hygiene rating. The restaurant may hide a comment that breaks these rules (its stars still count, and the page says how many comments were hidden); it may not hide a comment only because it is critical. We may remove ratings that break these terms, or that look automated or fraudulent.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
use Dine Check to harass, defame or mislead anyone, or to make false or malicious requests or ratings;
copy the directory in bulk, scrape it at high volume, or republish it as your own service without our written permission;
try to break, probe or overload our systems, get around sign-in or usage limits, or access data you are not permitted to see;
impersonate anyone, or use another person's account, kitchen-app PIN or API key;
use Dine Check in any way that breaks the law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
If you believe you have found a security weakness, please tell us at privacy@dinecheck.in and give us reasonable time to fix it before telling anyone else.
8. If you run a listed business
If a record about your business is inaccurate, out of date or not about your business, email privacy@dinecheck.in with the listing and any evidence (for example, a later inspection report). We will review it promptly and correct, annotate or remove the listing where appropriate. Where a record reproduces an official publication, we may keep it while linking to your response or a later record.
9. Client portal, kitchen app and partner API
The client portal and kitchen app are for people invited on behalf of an establishment that has an agreement with Dine Check; the partner API is for organisations we have issued a key to. Both are also governed by that agreement, including its plan, price and any additional features. Keep your sign-in, PIN and API keys confidential; you are responsible for activity under them.
Your records. The establishment is responsible for what it records — including about its own staff — and for having a proper basis to do so. Compliance reminders and the health score help you keep on top of your obligations; they do not replace them.
Publishing. Only an owner can publish a menu or kitchen page, switch guest ratings on or off, or hide a comment, and does so at its own responsibility.
Additional features and credits. Some features are added separately (for example, Team & attendance, the digital menu, AI credits). During the launch offer some are free or included; we will tell you before any charge starts. Credits are for use by your establishment and have no cash value.
Partners may use audit results only as their agreement allows and must not publish them without the establishment's consent.
10. AI suggestions and regulatory updates
AI suggestions for allergens, diet, serving and nutrition are drafts. They can be wrong. A person at the establishment must check every suggestion before it is used, and the establishment is responsible for what it publishes.
Regulatory updates are guidance written by Dine Check, not legal advice. Some are first found by an automated search; a Dine Check admin checks each one against its source before it is published. Always check the official notification, and take professional advice where needed.
11. Content and intellectual property
The Dine Check name, website design, software, text, audit standard and reports are ours or our licensors'. Public inspection records belong to the authorities that published them. Restaurant suggestions and details come from Google Maps and remain Google's. A restaurant's menu content remains the restaurant's. You may share links to Dine Check pages and quote short extracts with a link back. Anything else needs our written permission.
12. Other services
Dine Check uses Google Sign-In and Google Maps Platform, and links to other websites such as original inspection reports, government notifications and social networks for sharing. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
13. Disclaimers
We work to keep Dine Check accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not guarantee that the information — including menu, allergen and nutrition information published by restaurants, and guest ratings — is complete, current or error-free, or that the service will be uninterrupted. Decisions about where and what to eat are yours.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Dine Check is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss arising from reliance on information on the site, from a restaurant's food, practices or published information, from guest ratings, or from services we do not control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
15. Suspension
We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms or misuses Dine Check, and remove their requests or ratings. You can stop using Dine Check at any time and delete your request details at dinecheck.in/request.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Hyderabad, Telangana have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
17. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as Dine Check changes; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use Dine Check after a change means you accept it. Questions, complaints or notices: privacy@dinecheck.in.
